Workers' Compensation Law Legal Specialization

Board-Certified Specialists are Experienced. Respected. Tested. Certified.

 

If you have been admitted to the practice of law for at least 5 years with at least the last 2 in the State of Arizona, and during the 5 years immediately preceding your application engaged in workers compensation legal services on an annual basis equivalent to at least 40% or more of a full-time practice, you are eligible to apply to become Board certified as a Workers' Compensation legal specialist.  Combine these qualifications with your high ethical standards, excellent peer reviews, specialized legal education, and tested knowledge to achieve this honorable distinction.

Your experience will be measured by your substantial involvement in the field of Workers' Compensation, generally defined as:

  • 40% of your practice devoted to matters where the primary issue involved is a person's entitlement to benefits under the Arizona Workers' Compensation Act during 4 of the 5 preceding years. 
  • Evidence of such shall be 15 Decisions of cases litigated to a conclusion within the application period, or resolved by settlement after at least one hearing.
