National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being

The National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being was established in 2017, and in August 2017 published a report titled The Path to Lawyer Well-Being: Practical Recommendations for Positive Change.  The report is, in part, a practical reaction to a 2016 study conducted by the Betty Ford Hazelden Foundation and the American Bar Association of approximately 13,000 lawyers.  The study confirmed what many had suspected, that lawyers were facing challenges that had long needed to be addressed.

ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs

The ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs (CoLAP) and its Working Group to Advance Well-Being in the Legal Profession took the report of the National Task Force a step further and created a Well-Being Toolkit for Lawyers and Legal Employers as well as a shorter guide and a well-being template for legal employers.
