Tax Law Legal Specialization
Board-Certified Specialists are Experienced. Respected. Tested. Certified.
If you have been admitted to the practice of law for at least 5 years, with at least the last 2 in the State of Arizona, with an annual basis equivalent to at least 50% of a full-time practice, and with a minimum of 500 hours of practice in the area of tax law, you are eligible to apply to become Board certified as a Tax legal specialist. Combine these qualifications with your high ethical standards, excellent peer reviews, specialized tax legal education, and tested knowledge to achieve this honorable distinction.
Your experience will be measured by your substantial involvement in the field of Tax Law in at least 4 of the last 6 years, some examples are:
- Rendition of advice as to the tax consequences of transactions such as the formation, operation, liquidation and reorganization of business organizations
- Rendition of advice as to the tax consequences of personal transactions and arrangements
- Advice relating to and establishment of employee benefit plans
- Representation in connection with civil or criminal tax controversies or liabilities
- Teaching of Tax Law at any law school accredited by the American Bar Association
