Biography
With more than 30 years of tax, estate planning and government regulatory experience, Mr. Shill helps businesses and business owners plan, structure, buy and sell their businesses, and minimize tax obligations. He assists those businesses in designing and implementing employee benefits and compensation plans and programs to incentivize productivity and reward success. Mr. Shill also helps clients develop inheritance and estate plans that pass wealth to future generations with attention tax-efficiency and family goals and objectives. The Arizona Board of Legal Specialization designates Mr. Shill as a Certified Tax Specialist.
Business problems rarely fit into neat categories and businesses often encounter enforcement actions related government regulation. Mr. Shill regularly assists clients in navigating these complex federal and state regulatory environments. He frequently manages audits, disputes, tax controversies and administrative litigation with agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service, the Arizona Department of Revenue, the Arizona Attorney General’s office, The Arizona Industrial Commission, the U. S. Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board, and others. Mr. Shill also drafts and advocates for the passage of legislation to address client issues.
In addition to these primary areas of focus, over years of assisting clients with business and regulatory problems, Mr. Shill has developed expertise in state and federal procurement matters and disputes. Thus, Mr. Shill addresses the full range of business issues described above in the context of government contracting and the associated agreements.
