Michael Garth Moore "I am coming on forty-six years at the bar. My history is likely not remarkable for a trial lawyer. I was born and raised in the Midwest, served my country during the Vietnam War, eventually entering, and graduating from The Ohio State University with a BA and the honor of induction into Phi Beta Kappa. My law degree was given by the same university. The first twenty-five years in my solo practice in Columbus, Ohio, I represented working people injured by defective products, medical negligence and thoughtless drivers. Then I migrated into employment discrimination, and, from there, into civil rights as I was migrating to Tucson, Arizona. One cannot do this work without being touched by the injury to body and spirit inflicted on citizens by corporate and government actors. One learns that the knowledge gained in vindicating fundamental liberties in court must be offered to advocates who seek that systemic change. Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” A lawyer must serve this greater good, and that is what I strive to do." |
